Article 6: A drink in Temple Bar Area

January 10th, 2017,

After having a great day at work , I went into Dublin city centre to visit more about this beautiful and cosmopolitan city. With a colleague from my university and work, we have met people from different places, it was excellent.

So rather than going visiting, we have been in front of Trinity College meeting girls that we have got to know thanks to the Internet, a sort of International Student App. There were two German girls. Jana (met on the internet) now a student of Physics and her friend.

Then we met two nice Italian men. Laendro is from Italy, he studied in Brighton’s university for a degree in nuclear engineering and now he is working in Spain in a hotel. He came with his colleague for a vacation for two days in Dublin.

That was a wonderful afternoon, we were walking in the Temple Bar District and we were speaking in French, English, German and Italian. It was a very comical afternoon. We went to a pub next to Temple Bar Pub and of course we have had a Guinness and we said

"Sláinte" (cheers in Irish) to finish our International Meeting.

Down below you will see a picture of us (our international group) in the pub, I have wanted to immortalize this moment in a photo because you shall know that in your personal or professional life you have to be sociable and open-minded whatever/whoever people are: white, black, blue-eyed, green-eyed, ginger, brown hair, European, Asian, African, Arabian…

—Few little tips–

  • You can easily meet people in the street or with internet on Facebook or with Apps such as WhatsApp; Jodel; …

  • Then if you want to meet people, keep this idea in your mind: it’s awesome to meet someone but you don’t know who they are: be careful and never go alone.

  • Then try to meet people from different countries or from the host country! For example I prefer to meet people from different countries but not a lot from France so I can improve my languages such as Spanish or English! But it’s still funny to meet French people and speak with them about how are they doing.
